In 1965, in the village of Sessenheim, Martin Michaeli founded MEPHISTO with a single goal: to craft the world's best, most comfortable footwear. From the beginning, every pair combined artisanal shoemaking with innovative technology, and the family legacy continues today through his children, Stéphanie and Marc.

Today, MEPHISTO collections are distributed by 18,000 retailers in 86 countries, including more than 900 MEPHISTO Shops, with production in Sarrebourg, France and Portugal.

The MEPHISTOcollection.

For more than sixty years, MEPHISTO has championed "timeless modernity" while fashion trends came and went. Its innovations span the Raglers of 1972, with a latex sole and ultra-fast eyelet lacing, the Trampolins of 1978 with a propulsion-effect heel, and the Trekking Boots of 1979, its first step into specialised outdoor footwear. Goodyear-welted urban models followed in 1982 and the Runoff line in 1984, confirming the brand's place in leisure footwear.

AIR-BAG technology arrived in 2005, and SOFT-AIR technology became integral to every MEPHISTO design in 2006, reinforcing the brand's credo, "To walk is to live." The MEPHISTO family also includes Mobils, Allrounder and Sano, each with its own focus on comfort, from maximum padding and a wider fit to sporty outdoor style and a natural rolling sole.
